Month long Nangarhar T-20 cricket tournament kicks off

JALALABAD (Pajhwok): T20 cricket tournament between 22 districts teams of eastern Nangarhar has kicked off on Saturday in Jalalabad, the provincial capital, an official said.

Participating teams have been divided into five groups which will continue for one month. Besides district teams the Kochis and Kabul camp teams are also participating in the event.

Ziaurrahman Qureshi, the provincial cricket affairs in-charge at the inaugural ceremony of the tournament, said the tournament is part of the cricket annual plan which is being played between provincial teams to enhance their skills and abilities.

Mawlavi Noor Mohammad Hanif, head of the provincial Information and Cultural Affairs Department, said that government fully supported the players.

Wais Ahmd, the player of Koz Kunar team, said the tournament was vital for the enhancement of players’ abilities and skills, he was happy to be part for the T-20 tournament.
