JALALABAD (Pajhwok): The Ministry of Higher Education (MoHE) in cooperation with the Nangarhar University will organize an International Climate Change Conference next month which will be attended by experts from different countries.
According to the officials the conference will be held on February 11 and today (Saturday) a meeting for its preparations was held at Nangarhar University.
Dr. Lutfullah Khairkhwa, academic and professional secretary of the Higher Education Ministry, said Nangahar University suited hosting this conference because this province has capability, professionals and historic places.
He said experts and teachers from 20 countries will attended the conference and read their articles, different types of exhibitions will be held during the conference and funds for all these activities would be provided by the university.
Nangarhar University President Dr. Khalil Ahmad Behsudwal, said on the direction of the Higher Education Ministry, they prepared for the conference.
After a lost research and investigation they agreed upon the Climate Change topic because it is an international issue, he added.
He said articles from different countries had been received for the conference which would be published in the conference after filtration.
Dr. Khalil said Afghanistan is the victim of climate change and through this conference the international community would be conveyed that to what extent Afghanistan suffered from climate change.
