KABUL (Pajhwok): A number of Afghan politicians on Sunday condemned last night’s blast that killed two civilians and injured 14 others in Kabul’s Dashti Barchi area.
Some international media outlets quoted Daesh or Islamic State militant group claiming responsibility for the blast that ripped through a passenger vehicle.
Kabul police spokesman Khalid Zadran told Pajhwok two civilians were killed and 14 others were injured in the explosion.
The Voice of America and some other media said Daesh had accepted responsibility for the attack.
Former president Hamid Karzai condemned the blast as a terrorist, un-Islamic and inhumane act.
Dr. Abdullah, former head of the National Reconciliation Council in the previous government, also condemned the blast and said the killing of civilians was a violation of Islamic principles and human values.
Former top negotiator in the previous government Mohammad Masoom Stanikzai said it was a cowardly and shameless attack on civilians in Kabul.
Islamic Unity Party leader Mohammad Karim Khalili also condemned the incident and said ‘terrorists’ once again attacked a bus carrying civilians, including women and children, and left the defenseless citizens in cold blood.
He called on the caretaker government to expose hidden hands behind such ‘terrorist incidents’ as soon as possible.
