142 UN staffers killed in Gaza so far: UNRWA

KABUL (Pajhwok): At least 142 employees of United Nations have been killed so far in Gaza Strip, says the UN Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA).

The deaths of UN staffers were the highest in the organisation’s history, UNRWA was quoted by Qatar News Agency.

The agency said in a statement that 130 of its facilities and schools were directly hit by Israeli strikes, indicating that what was happening in Gaza was more dangerous than the Nakba of 1948.

Since the start of the Israeli occupation army’s aggression on October 7, the Gaza Strip has witnessed a horrific humanitarian crisis.

Cutting off electricity, fuel supply and water services, at a time when several organisations confirmed that the humanitarian aid had reached the strip so far, was very small compared to the size of the emergency.
