KABUL (Pajhwok): Top UN and Iranian diplomats have conferred on continued cooperation in Afghanistan.
Iran’s Special Representative and Ambassador Hassan Kazemi Qomi met UN Secretary General’s special envoy and UNAMA chief Roza Otunbayeva.
In a post on X, the Iranian embassy in Kabul said the two sides conferred on cooperation on mine clearance, alternatives to poppy cultivation and distance education in Afghanistan.
The interim government in Kabul has banned poppy cultivation across the country. The UN and other global organisations have stressed alternative livelihoods for growers.
