PESHAWAR (Pajhwok): Three police personnel and a civilian were killed in a bomb attack in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s garrison town of Kohat on Wednesday morning.
The attack took place close to the Lachi toll plaza on the Kohat Indus highway, police said, adding more than 10 attackers targeted the toll plaza and a nearby security check-post.
Four people, including three policemen, lost their lives in the explosion. Police and army contingents cordoned off the scene and launched a search operation.
The attackers are believed to be holed up in the mountainous area, according to Geo News. The blast was followed by a brief gunfire exchange.
Peshawar, Khyber, Bajaur, Tank while Dera Ismail Khan and North Waziristan and South Waziristan have lately witnessed a spike in terrorist attacks.
