China to help eradicate polio, aid returnees in Afghanistan

KABUL (Pajhwok): The China International Development Cooperation Agency (CIDCA) will help Afghanistan eradicate polio and resettle returning refugees.

The Afghan Embassy in China wrote on its X page that Afghanistan ambassador to China Mawlavi Asadullah Bilal Karimi met with CIDCA deputy director Li Ming.

Li Ming said officially starting work in China by the Afghanistan’s ambassador opened a new chapter of good relations between the two countries.

He said they would help returning Afghan refugees and coordinate with the caretaker government and other agencies to eradicate polio in Afghanistan through a roadmap.

Karimi hailed CIDCA’s intention to provide more assistance to refugees as a positive move.

Karimi also appreciated CIDCA’s efforts to deal with polio in Afghanistan and said his embassy would coordinate as required with the relevant agencies of the Islamic Emirate in this regard.

He said after the IEA’s takeover, polio disease had been largely controlled in Afghanistan and insisted on complete control of polio and giving necessary attention to the health sector.

Both sides also emphasized on continued bilateral relations and cooperation.
