KABUL (Pajhwok): At least three people have been killed and two others wounded as a result of a traffic accident on the Kabul-Kandahar highway in central Maidan Wardak province, an official said on Tuesday.
Police spokesperson Yousuf Israr told Pajhwok Afghan News the accident took place in the Aziz Qala area of Syedabad district late on Monday night when a Corolla-type vehicle rammed into a cargo truck.
He said three people lost their lives and two others were injured in the collision.
He added the injured were evacuated in critical condition to a health centre in Ghazni province by security forces.
Recently, traffic accidents have increased in the country. Media reports say more than 4,000 people have been killed and injured in traffic accidents across the country since the beginning of the current solar year.
