KABUL (Pajhwok): State land measuring 50 acres has been allocated for a cancer hospital to be constructed by traders in southeastern Khost province, the Office of the Administrative Affairs (OAA) said.
OAA in a statement said a delegation led by Eng. Ahmad Zia Khalid, head of Investment Facilitation, travelled to Khost and handed over 50 acres of land to the Khost Public Health Department.
Zia Khalid met Khost governor Mullah Bismillah Akhund and said every year hundreds of cancer patients travelled to foreign countries for treatment and the construction of the proposed cancer hospital in Khost would resolve the issue.
The Khost governor said construction work on the hospital should be launched as soon as possible and officials and people should cooperate in the implementation of the project.
“National businessmen will build the cancer hospital with facilities for Afghans including the Faculty of Medical Sciences and other related departments,” the statement said.
