KABUL (Pajhwok): Former foreign minister of Pakistan and PPP chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has claimed the ex-ISI chief having a cup of tea  in Kabul has led to consequences.

Zardari made the remarks while addressing a rally in the Ratodero town of Larkana district, Pakistani media reported on Wednesday.

He reflected on Faiz Hameed’s visit to Afghanistan after the re-establishment of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan.

The then foreign minister said: “We didn’t think about the consequences when we were having a cup of tea in Kabul.”

In September 2021, ex-spymaster of Pakistan Hameed made an unexpected visit to Kabul.

Zardari hit out at the PTI government’s decision to engage in Afghan peace talks and allow Afghans to resettle in Pakistan, particularly in Karachi.

The PPP chairman while criticising Pakistan’s political, economic and military polices, said from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa to Afghanistan, the results of such policies were affecting the common people.

He added such economic crisis had not occurred before in the history of Pakistan and polices of hatred had taken hold in society.
