PUL-I-ALAM (Pajhwok): For the first time, a vocational training center for orphaned children and youth has been opened in central Logar province.
A delegation from the Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs led by deputy minister Maulvi Zahidan Agha inaugurated the vocational center having the capacity for 250 students.
He added: "The Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs is considering to build similar centers of vocational and professional education in other provinces of the country, to provide professional education to homeless and poor youth as per market demand.”
According to the Deputy Minister of Labor and Social Affairs, 52 centers of technical and professional education have been opened across the country and about 20,000 young people graduate from these centers every year.
Maulvi Inayatullah Shuja, the deputy governor of Logar, said it was their responsibility to provide professional and technical education to the youth, asking the residents to send their children to the vocational and professional education center.
