Chinese to invest $500m in Afghanistan solar power

KABUL (Pajhwok): A number of Chinese investors say they want to invest 500 million US dollars in Afghanistan’s solar power sector.

They expressed their desire during a meeting with Afghan ambassador in Islamabad Sardar Ahmad Shakib, the Afghanistan Embassy in Islamabad wrote on its X handle.

The embassy said the Chinese investors said they wanted to invest 500 million US dollars in Afghanistan’s solar power sector.

For his part, the Afghan ambassador assured them that the Afghan government would follow an economy-oriented policy and welcomed any investment that benefitted the people of Afghanistan.
