KABUL (Pajhwok): Construction work on a bridge has been completed at a cost of 20 million afghanis in central Kapisa province, an official said on Monday.
Officials said the Shinkakhel bridge would facilitate the movement of thousands of residents and vehicles in the Kohband district.
In the opening ceremony Kapisa Governor Qari Ehsan Baryal, Ministry of Defence Chief of Staff Qari Enayatullah Rahmani, the Kohband district head and a number of scholars and residents participated.
The governor promised the implementation of dozens of development and public welfare projects in Kapisa in the near future.
Baryal asked residents to protect and maintain public facilities.
Qari Rahmani said the bridge would be about 24 meters lengthy and six meters wide. The project cost will be paid by the engineering department of the Ministry of Defence.
