Over 200 crime suspects arrested in Takhar

TALOQAN (Pajhwok): Police have arrested 206 alleged criminals during the past two and a half months in northern Takhar province, an official said on Tuesday.

Police chief Muwlavi Ziaul Haq Hamid told media that the Crime Branch police personnel had arrested 206 persons in connection with different criminal cases.

He said 165 suspects were involved in crimes, 28 in narcotics smuggling and 13 others in terrorist activities.

According to Hamid, the dossiers of the detainees have been handed over to judicial organs.
