KABUL (Pajhwok): Acting Public Health Minister Dr. Qalandar Ebad and Chinese Ambassador Zhao Xing have discussed investments in Afghanistan’s health sector.
At a meeting here on Tuesday; they also conferred on the rehabilitation of the Jamhuriat Hospital and building the capacity of Afghan doctors.

Ebad called Afghanistan-China ties essential and emphasised on all-round bilateral cooperation, the Ministry of Public Health (MoPH) wrote on its X handle.
He pointed out: "Developing the capacity of Afghan doctors is one of our priorities and we have a lot of human resources in Afghanistan. We need to enhance their capacity."
He asked the Chinese ambassador to cooperate with the MoPH through educational programmes, according to the statement.
For his part, the ambassador promised China’s continued cooperation with Afghanistan. “China is ready to support Afghanistan’s health sector.”
Earlier, Japan’s Ambassador Takayoshi Kormaya, at a meeting with Ebad, had promised his country’s continued support to Afghanistan health sector.
