BAMYAN (Pajhwok): A drinking water supply network and an educational center have been completed and put into service in the Yakawlang district of central Bamyan province.

Costing 13 million afghanis, the water network was built in Katha Khana area and the educational center in the refugee township.

Mullah Ziaullah Khadim, Bamyan rural rehabilitation and development director inaugurated the two projects.

He said the water network consumed more than seven million afghanis provided by the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR).

UNHCR also spent 5.9 million afghanis on the construction of the education center, which will provide education to 800 students.

Bamyan governor Maulvi Abdullah Al-Sahari said the local administration was trying to implement similar development projects in order to provide services to the people.

Local residents said they were happy over the completion of the projects and urged the government to carry out more such schemes.
