KABUL (Pajhwok): Nepal have beaten Afghanistan by one wicket in their last and third match at the ICC U-19 Cricket World Cup at the Buffalo Park in East London South Africa.
Afghanistan’s future stars won the toss and opted to bat first. They were bowled out for a 145 runs. AM Ghazanfar top-scored with 37 while Naseer Khan put 31 on board.
An easy chase was expected of Nepal, but they struggled against Afghan bowling and reached the target in the 45th over for 9 wickets.
For Afghanistan, Faridoon dawoodzai took three wickets, Khalil Ahmed and Naseer Khan captured two each.
This was Afghanistan’s third consecutive defeat in the tournament. Earlier, Pakistan and New Zealand also crushed them by 181 runs in their first match.
With this win Nepal qualified for to Super Six stage and Afghanistan is out of the tournament.
