KABUL (Pajhwok): China has pledged the strengthening of bilateral relations and more cooperation with Afghanistan, says the Afghan embassy in Beijing.
Ambassador Bilal Karimi won the assurance from Deputy Director of Asian Department at China’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Mao Ming, the Afghan embassy wrote on X.
At their meeting in Beijing, Mao Ming pledged the strengthening of bilateral relations and cooperation between the two countries.
Karimi also described high-level diplomatic relations between Afghanistan and China as a positive and important development.
The ambassador stressed the need for joint efforts by the two countries to boost their-around relations, according to the embassy post..
“Meanwhile, Karimi also discussed the upcoming meeting of representatives from regional countries in Kabul on January 29, 2024 and emphasised on greater mutual cooperation of participating countries,” the embassy said.
The contact group also discussed the first meeting of the regional initiative by the countries and emphasised on enhanced cooperation among the participating countries.
Economic, commercial and consular matters between Afghanistan and China were also discussed.
