LASHKARGAH (Pajhwok): Over 230 disabled persons in southern Helmand and northeastern Kapesa province have been provided with wheelchairs, officials said on Wednesday.
Sultan Mohammad Sultani, head of the Social Service Department, told Pajhwok Afghan News 201 disabled persons distributed wheelchairs today (Wednesday) in the province.
He said: “These wheelchairs distributed to disabled persons without discrimination and it was not important that the disabled person was linked to the past government or to the present government.”
Separately, 30 disabled persons distributed wheelchairs in Kapesa province today (Wednesday), an official said.
Mullah Abdul Razzaq Akhund, technical and professional secretary of the Martyrs and Disabled Ministry, travelled to the province in this regard.
He said the trip was made on the direction of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan leadership; he distributed cash assistance to 18 families of Fidayans.
Each family was provided 15,000 afs as part of the cash assistance.
