Parwan orphanage admits girls for first time

CHARIKAR (Pajhwok): For the first time 75 girls have been inducted in the orphanage house in central Parwan province and the number of boys increased by 125, an official said on Wednesday.

Mawlavi Qudratullah Zakir, head of the Works and Social Affairs Department, told a gathering organized for this purposed: “We opened this girls orphanage centre with 75 orphan girls, in addition, 125 more boys had been approved and the total number of boys and girls in this facility is now 300.”

He said all the workers of orphanage centre were female.

He added the construction of orphanage cente which will have the capacity of 400 orphans was being built with the support of well off people from Arab countries.

Hafiz Mujeeb Rahimi, head of the Economy Department, during his speech termed orphans the future generation and public asset and stressed that efforts would be made to improve the living condition of orphan children, they will be provided with education facility and will receive more kindness and sympathy.

Qari Raz Mohammad Yasir, head of the Commerce and Industry Department, said: “Afghanistan is a country that has been invaded by foreigners throughout history, which has led to the orphaning of thousands of children in this country.”

He said Orphans do not only need food and clothing, but they need spiritual food such as education and compassion, and it is necessary for everyone to work in this direction.

Government run orphanage facility in Parwan was built 40 years ago in which thousands of orphans until the age of 18 had been brought up.
