Balkh man on the run after killing 4 family members

MAZAR-I-SHARIF (Pajhwok): A man allegedly shot dead four members of his family in Mazar-i-Sharif, the capital of northern Balkh province, an official said on Saturday.

Police spokesman Mohammad Asif Waziri told Pajhwok Afghan News the incident took place in Khursan area in the limits of 7th police district on Friday.

He said the deceased included his father, mother, brother and another woman whose relationship was yet to be determined.

He added the killer had managed to escape, but a manhunt for him was underway.

The same day, a man gunned down six members of his family in Khoshi district of central Logar province.
