Newly-wed groom dies of suffocation in Daikundi

NIELI (Pajhwok): A newly-wed groom has died of suffocation and his bride fell unconscious due to gas leakage in the Patu district of central Daikundi province, an official said on Saturday.

Hizbullah Ayubi, an official of the district, told Pajhwok Afghan News that the incident took place in Tamizan area of the district late on Friday night.

He said: “This couple ignited the gas heater and went to sleep. At the morning, the other family members who wanted to wake them up in found out that the groom suffocated to death and the bride fell unconscious and she was immediately taken to the hospital.

He added the couple had tied the knot about one month ago and the groom was 22 years old.
