Uruzgan man shot dead by armed robbers

TIRINKOT (Pajhwok): Armed robbers have killed a man and injured his daughter in Tirinkot city, the capital of central Uruzgan province, police official said on Saturday.

Police chief Maulv Mohammad Rafiq Khadem said the incident took place when robbers entered a house where they gunned down a man and injured his daughter on Thursday night in Tirinkot city.

He said that four of the thieves had been detained and a manhunt was underway to arrest the fifth.

On the other hand, one of the detainees also confessed that they opened fire at the owner of the house after being identified by him, as a result the man killed and his minor daughter injured in the Surkh Merghab area.

Khadem said the detainees were referred to judicial organs.
