DAB to auction $17m to keep afghani steady

KABUL (Pajhwok): Da Afghanistan Bank (DAB) on Sunday announced it would auction 17 million dollars on Monday to strengthen the local currency.

In a post on X, the central bank said it would inject $17 million into the market in the form of auctioning.

“The DAB invites eligible commercial banks and exchange and monetary service companies to participate in the auction,” it added.

According to the bank, winners of the tender are required to settle their accounts immediately until the end of the day.

Meanwhile, DAB auctioned 17 million on January 31 to keep the afghani stable.
