ATLANTA (Pajhwok): The Political Commission meeting has discussed the upcoming UN-led meeting on Afghanistan.
Chaired by Deputy Prime Minister for Political Affairs Maulvi Abdul Kabir, the meeting of the commission was held in Sapidar palace on Saturday.
The current situation and developments in the country and the region came up for discussion and the recent meeting “Afghanistan’s Regional Cooperation Initiative”, which was held in Kabul was also considered important and effective, said the Prime Minster House.
The commission also discussed the upcoming UN-led meeting on Afghanistan in Doha.
The UN will convene the meeting on February 18 and 19 in Doha.
The previous UN-convened conference on Afghanistan was held at Guterres’ initiative in Doha on May 1 to 2, 2023.
It was attended by special envoys from Russia, Britain, Germany, India, Indonesia, Iran, Kazakhstan, Qatar, Kyrgyzstan, China, Norway, the UAE, Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, the US, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Turkey, Uzbekistan, France, Japan, as well as EU and OIC.
