Uplift projects worth 323m afs put into service in Wardak

KABUL (Pajhwok): The Ministry of Rural Rehabilitation and Development (MRRD) on Monday announced inaugurating 451 uplift projects worth 323 million afghanis in central Maidan Wardak province.

A MRRD statement said Acting Minister Mullah Mohammad Yunus Akhundzada, Maidan Wardak governor Qari Bakhtiar Muaz, head of administrative office Sheikh Noorulhaq Anwar and a number of tribal elders and other people attended the inaugural ceremony.

Akhunzada said the projects were important in terms of development and facilities for the people.

He said the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan (IEA) was committed to reconstructing and developing the country and considered the implementation of such development projects its responsibility.

Akhundzada urged private construction companies to implement such development projects in all provinces in a transparent and fair manner.

Maidan Wardak rural rehabilitation head Maulvi Wahidullah Rashid said ACTED Organisation supported all the development projects worth 323 million afs.

The projects were implemented in the provincial capital Maidan Shahr and Jalriz and Behsud 1st districts. These projects include construction and reconstruction of roads, retaining walls, bridges, culverts, water channels, irrigation water storages and water supply schemes.
