KABUL (Pajhwok): The two-year mission of United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) representative in Afghanistan, Fran Equiza has come to an end. He is succeeded by Dr. Tajuddin.
Deputy Foreign Minister for Political Affairs Sher Mohammad Abbas Stanikzai held a farewell meeting with the outgoing UNICEF representative.
During this meeting, Equiza called his two-year-mission in Afghanistan as a proud and sweet memory of his life, according to a statement from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA).
He said Dr. Tajuddin was replacing him as head of UNICEF in Afghanistan.
Stanikzai called UNICEF activities in Afghanistan a historic and long-term mission. He praised Equiza’s work and wished his successor success, the MoFA statement added.
