KABUL (Pajhwok): The Ministry of Defence says security officials from Afghanistan and Iran have discussed border issues and bilateral cooperation.
In a post on X, MoD wrote border security officials from the two countries met in western Herat province today (Wednesday) at the Islam Qala Port in western Herat province.
The meeting held at the Herat Commissary was chaired by Brig. Gen. Mohammad Rahim Khadim, the chief of the 5th brigade of 207 Al-Farooq Corps.
Mohammad Reza Bayat, the Iranian deputy chief of the border force, and an army official from the neighboring country held talks with Afghan officials.
The two sides discussed border security cooperation and the need for resolving problems between the neighbours.
