KABUL (Pajhwok): In the past nine months Afghanistan exported goods worth $1.3 billion and imported goods worth $6.2 billion, according to the National Statistics and Information Authority (NSIA) on Monday.
The statement said NSIA has collected, unified and analysed the data related to export and import of the country in the first three quarters of the current year.
During the period Afghanistan exported goods worth $1 billion and $355 million and imported goods worth $6 billion and 228 million.
Most of exports went to Pakistan, India and the United Arab Emirate (UAE) during the period.
Afghanistan export to Pakistan were nearly $690 million, to India $463 million and to the UAE over $32 million.
Dried fruits are at the top of the exported goods which accounted for over $342 million of the export bill, herbals, minerals and fresh fruits were the other items exported the most.
Import
According to NSIA, the value of imports from Iran was $1 billion 318 million 900 thousand, from Pakistan $1 billion 156 million 100 thousand, and from China the value of $1 billion 147 million.
Petroleum and lubricants among the imported items in the first three quarters of the current year will account for the largest share, with a total value of 1 billion, 10,600,000 dollars, and machinery, transportation vehicles, and spare parts with $691,900 million dollars is in the second place and textiles, metals and metal products are in the third and fourth place.
The statement said the export value of the country in the first three quarters of the past solar year was $1 billion 375 million and the value of import was reach $5billion 124 million 900 thousand dollars.
