Time to interact with IEA, Japanese envoy tells world

KABUL (Pajhwok): Japanese ambassador in Afghanistan Takayoshi Kormaya says his country wants positive ties with the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan (IEA).

He said this during a meeting with acting minister of information and culture Mullah Khairullah Khairkhwa, the Ministry of Information and Culture (MoIC) wrote on its X handle.

It quoted Kormaya as saying his country desired positive ties with the IEA and the time had come for the international community to interact with the Afghanistan caretaker government.

He pledged assistance in reconstruction of the national museum of Afghanistan and historical monuments.

For his part, Khairkhwa said: “Protection of historical monuments is a shared responsibility, we must cooperate together.”

Khairkhaw added diplomatic relations between Afghanistan and Japan were based on mutual respect.
