GHAZNI CITY (Pajhwok): Two individuals were publicly executed in the capital of southern Ghazni province on Thursday after being convicted of murder, the third public execution since the IEA re-establishment.
A statement from the Supreme Court to the media said Sayed Jamal, a resident of Lawri village of Sayedabad district, had stabbed to death another resident of the area Amir Mohammad seven years ago.
Similarly, a resident of Chahar Dewal area of Andar district killed Mohammad Qasim with a knife five years ago, the statement informed.
According to the source, three courts had issued Qisas order for the two convicts after careful examining and approving it.
The judicial order was enforced after approval from Islamic Emirate supreme leader at Ali Lalal football stadium in Ghazni City today.
The statement said that Chief Justice Mufti Atiqullah Darwish, mufti of the criminal court, Maulvi Abdul Hai Shakir , the governor of Ghazni Mohamad Amin Omari, police chief Maulvi Mohammad Alam Makhdum, a number of government officials and people witnessed the execution.
