Central bank set to auction $17m tomorrow

KABUL (Pajhwok): Amid continuing efforts to keep the afghani stable, the central bank is all poised to auction an amount of 17 million US dollars on Thursday.

In a statement, Da Afghanistan Bank (DAB) invited eligible lenders and money-exchange services to take part in the auction.

The winner will have to settle their accounts by the end of the day, according to DAB, which said partial payments were unacceptable.

The central bank arranges auctions of a certain amount of US dollar in the market in order to boost the value of the local currency.
