Logar religious schools get textbooks

PUL-I-ALAM (Pajhwok): The process of textbooks distribution to religious schools has started in central Logar province, an official said on Saturday.

Education Department Spokesperson Shapour Arab told Pajhwok Afghan News 22,500 text books would be distributed to religious schools by the Education Department.

He said this process started today (Saturday) which would continue for one week and 54 religious schools would get textbooks.

“These textbooks from class one to three for the religious schools of villages in which 15 different religious and scientific books had been added,” he said.

He said the distribution of new textbooks would help resolve its shortage issue in religious schools.

Ihsanullah, one of the Logar teachers, told Pajhwok Afghan News the distribution of textbooks to religious schools was a positive step and added government should address the textbooks shortage issue at schools as well.

These religious schools were registered with the Islamic Education Office of the Education Department last year and currently thousands of girls and boys received education.
