KUNDUZ CITY (Pajhwok): At least 200 animals have died due to the recent snow spell and cold weather in northern Kunduz province, an official said on Sunday.
Natural Disasters Management Authority director Maulvi Shafiqullah Jawad told Pajhwok Afghan News that as per directives of the provincial leadership, three emergency committees had been formed to reach out to the affected ranchers.
Some trucks laden with fodder, press-cake and tents were sent to the affected areas, he added.
The recent snow spell and severe cold killed 200 animals, but thousands of more cattle were rescued by fodder distribution, Jawad said.
