LASHKARGAH (Pajhwok): Nomads, locally known as Kuchis, in southern Helmand province say they are happy for the recent rains, but their pastures have been seized and turned into agriculture lands by local people.
Rozi Mohammad, a nomad who lives in Sarkar area of Lashkargah, told Pajhwok Afghan News pastures where they would graze their animals had been seized by local people.
He said: “The deserts are turned into agriculture lands and there is no pasture for our animals.” He added they currently grazed their animals on Helmand River’s banks.
