TIRINKOT (Pajhwok): The Public Health Department in central Uruzgan province says the province is provided less health services looking to its 1.5 million populations.
Public health director Dr Mohammadullah Rohani said the population of Uruzgan according to micro survey had reached 1.5 million, but the health quota was provided to only 372,000 people from the Ministry of Public Health.
He said that currently 90 health centres were operational in the provincial capital and districts with health services enough only for 372,000 people.
He added many people of Uruzgan lacked identity cards and if they obtained ID cards, they would be registered to the population officially and would enjoy rights in many other areas besides health.
Some residents also complained about lack of health services and asked the government to pay special attention to this area.
