KABUL (Pajhwok): Former Afghan Ambassador to Pakistan Abdul Salaam Zaeef has said that obtaining modern education of science and technology in current circumstances was compulsory.
On his Twitter handle, Zaeef wrote as helplessness of the Islamic world taught me that that getting the knowledge of modern technology was Farz-e-Aain, and it was the responsibility of the Islamic world rulers to defend the Islamic territories with materials and these materials could not be arranged without modern education.
Farz-i-Aain is an order in Islam for which every individual is responsible to perform.
He reaffirmed that it was both the duty and immediate responsibility of the Islamic rulers to defend their territory with materials and instruments and these things could not be availed without education.
He said: “Those who opposed modern science and technology, or give reasons for its insignificance and irrelevance, or are ignorant, or are conscious enemies of Muslims in the guise of Islam, I agree that Allah helps the oppressed, but this help is not after responsibility, but after oppression, which comes with the immense sacrifice, humiliation of the sincere believers, which is also a great responsibility before Allah and the believers, because of the indifference and negligence of the rulers, why did believers rendered so much sacrifices.”?
Abdul Haq Hammad, former broadcasting head at the Ministry of Information and Cultual Affairs (MoICA), said: “The Gaza war proved that contemporary Muslims were helpless against its enemy, the weak creed, internal differences, traitor leaders of important countries, distance from leaning science and technology, absence of strategic plan, improper management of economic sources and wrong interpretation of Sharia laws was the main reason of the Ummah current helplessness.”
