KABUL (Pajhwok): Commerce and Industry Minister Nooruddin Azizi and Turkmen officials have discussed the expansion of economic and transit trade ties.
The two sides also underlined the construction of the lapis lazuli transit route and acceleration of work on TAPI gas pipeline project.
Azizi and the delegation accompanying him met Turkmen Minister of Foreign Affairs Rashid Meredov, officials from Department of Oil and Gas, Industry and Trade and Railway.
The Ministry of Commerce and Industry (MoCI) said in a statement expansion of economic and transit ties, north-south connectivity, construction of the lapis lazuli route and other topics came up for discussion.
The two sides also conferred on ways to further promote the Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan-India (TAPI) gas pipeline project and the Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan (TAP) high-voltage power transmission line.
It said the construction of a railway line between Turkmenistan Afghanistan and social infrastructure facilities in the war-hit country was also discussed.
