Above 900 crime suspects held in Kunar this year: Police

ASADABAD (Pajhwok): Hundreds of crime suspects have been detained and heavy and light weapons recovered in eastern Kunar province this solar year that ends on March 21, the provincial police chief said on Thursday.

Maulvi Abdul Haq Haqqani presented a report about police activities during the past 11 month at a press conference in Asadabad.

He said the passport and traffic departments generated more than 131 million afghanis revenue during the period.

“We discovered and confiscated 37000 ifferent types of light and heavy weapons, 18 kilograms of explosives, three landmines and a quantity of narcotics during the past about one year."

He said about 931 crime suspects had been detained and introduced to judiciary for further investigations.

He asked the people of the province to cooperate with police in preventing crimes and strengthening security.
