KABUL (Pajhwok): Acting Defense Minister Maulvi Mohammad Yaqub Mujahid and Qatar’s Emir Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani have discussed strengthening ties between the two countries and progress in various sectors.
Yaqub Mujahid and Army Chief Qari Fasihuddin Fetrat are in Doha, Qatar, to attend the Doha International Maritime Defense Exhibition (Dimdex).
Zabihullah Mujahid, chief spokesman for Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan (IEA), wrote on its X handle Yaqub Mujahid and Fetrat met with Qatari Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani.
He said both sides discussed ways to further strengthen relations between the countries and need for progress in various fields.
The Qatari Emir called Afghanistan as a friend and brotherly country.
The Afghan defense minister appreciated Qatar’s cooperation and expansion of relations, Mujahid concluded.
