JALALABAD (Pajhwok): Construction work has been launched on two water supply networks that would cost more than eight million afghanis at the Torkham refugee camp in eastern Nangarhar province, an official said on Saturday.

Maulvi Qismatullah Mubariz, Nangarhar rural rehabilitation and development director, told Pajhwok Afghan News the water supply projects were being constructed with financial support of the United Nations International Children’s Emergency Fund (UNICEF) at the refugee camp.

These solar powered networks would supply water to 750 families, he explained.

He added they were trying to provide all necessary facilities to the returnees in the camp.
