KABUL (Pajhwok): Afghanistan Cricket Board (ACB) members met on the Afghanistan Premier League (APL) in the United Arab Emirates (UAE).
The March 8 meeting on the upcoming Afghanistan Premier League was chaired by Mirwais Ashraf, the board chairman.
The board members reviewed the reports submitted by the delegation concerned and issued instructions to ensure successful advancement of the process, said a statement from ACB.
The discussions primarily centered on evaluating three companies that competed to be ACB’s investment partner for APL.
Following discussions, two companies were selected for the technical and financial evaluation and background review.
The committee for APL was ordered to conduct an extensive evaluation and present a final report to the board for a final decision.
ACB initiated the process by assigning a committee in April 2023 to assess the resumption of APL and make a comprehensive assessment in this regard.
The committee will then share the outcome of its assessment with the ACB leadership and board members.
ACB says the successful conduct of the APL is important for it, board members and players. It hopes for the completion of relevant processes before the league begins.
ACB CEO Naseeb Khan, Afghanistan Chamber of Commerce and Investment (ACCI) Director in the UAE Haji Obaidullah Sader Khel, Kardan University Chancellor Ahmad Khalid Hatam, KamAir chief Zmari Kamgar and APL committee members also attended the meeting.
