HERAT CITY (Pajhwok): Police have arrested a group of seven thieves after stealing one million Saudi riyals from a businessman in western Herat province, an official said on Thursday.
Police spokesman Abdullah Ensaaf told Pajhwok Afghan News: “The sixth police district security forces arrested seven persons accused of stealing one million Saudi riyals of a businessman”.
Meanwhile, sixth police district deputy chief Maulvi Abdullah Samim said the men had deprived the businessman of his money at gunpoint. Police arrested the suspects in less than one week and referred them to judicial organs.
“Security forces are responsible to protect the people. IEA mujahidin are working to ensure security and allow no one to disturb peace,” Samim explained.
The police headquarters also said in a statement that the stolen money had been returned to its owner.
