KABUL (Pajhwok): A contract worth over $1.1 million for the execution of different uplift projects has been inked between the Ministry of Refugees and Repatriates Affairs (MoRRA) and a private company.

The agreement was signed by Deputy Minister Maulvi Abdul Rahman Rashid and a representative of the Afghan Peace-Builders and Humanitarian Organisation (APBHO).

Under the contract, the company will spend part of the money on the construction of pavements, water supply schemes, a school building and a public park in the 5th district of Kabul.

The firm will spend the remaining funds on building greenhouses, a carpet-weaving centre, distribution of wool-spinning wheels and chickens, arranging carpentry and computer skill training courses in Maidan Wardak, Panjsher and Kabul provinces.
