KABUL (Pajhwok): The prices of Kazakhstani flour and Indian sugar increased while jewelry rates fell during the outgoing week in Kabul, market sources said on Sunday.
Zmarai Safi, head of the Food Traders’ Association, said the rate of a 49-kilogarm Kazakh flour bag edged up from 1,530afs to 1,580afs and a 49-kilogram bag of Indian sugar from 3,100afs to 3,200afs.
But a 24 kilograms sack of Pakistani rice stayed stable at 2,600afs, a kilogram of African black tea at 400afs and the same amount of Indonesian green tea at 350afs.
Hamid Sufizada, a retailer at the Dahna-i-Bagh Market, put the retail price of a 49-kilogram bag of Kazakh flour at 1,630afs, a 24-kg bag of Pakistani rice at 2,650afs and a 49-kg sack of Indian sugar at 3,250afs.
A 16-litre bottle of cooking oil accounted for 1,480afs, one kilogram of black tea for 400afs and the same quantity of green tea for 450afs, he added.
Fuel prices
A worker of the Ahmadyar fuel station told Pajhwok Afghan News one litre of petrol cost 63afs and diesel 62afs.
Mohammad Sharif, a liquefied gas seller in the Kalola Pushta area of Kabul, said the price of a kilogram of the commodity remained unchanged at 58afs.
Gold prices down
Mohammad Fawad, a jeweler in Timor Shahi area, said the price of one gram of Arabian gold decreased from 4,200afs to 4,150afs and the same amount of Russian variety from 3,300afs to 3,100afs.
Afghani vs. dollars
Haji Hussain, owner of the Sadaqat Money Exchange Service, said one US dollar traded at 71afs and 1,000 Pakistani rupees at 250afs.
Last week, one US dollar accounted for 71.30afs and 1,000 Pakistani rupees for 250afs.
