MEHTHARLAM (Pajhwok): Five small factories have been opened to provide job opportunities to 140 needy women in the capital and three districts of eastern Laghman province.
Maulvi Salmat Khan Bilal, director of Commerce and Industry department, told Pajhwok Afghan News the five workshops cost 148,000 US dollars provided by the United Nations Development Program (UNDP).
He said the women would weave carpets, sew clothes and process milk and related equipment had been also given to the women.
Meanwhile, women working in these workshops were also happy.
