JALALABAD (Pajhwok): Custom officials in Torkham, a port township bordering Pakistan in eastern Nangarhar province, ceased CFC gas cylinders illegally transferred into Afghanistan, an official said on Tuesday.
Sediqullah Qureshi, deputy head of the Information and Cultural Affairs Department, told Pajhwok Afghan News CFC gas was illegally brought into Afghanistan which was ceased by the custom officials.
He said based on an official letter from the Environmental Protection Department and Information Department the gas was found as dangerous and destructive.
The EPD also confirmed to Pajhwok in a letter saying: “Destructive gas imported by the Hafeezullah Ahmadzai Company illegally was ceased.”
According to sources CFC gas is used in air conditions and refrigerators but the ceased brand was destructive and dangerous.
