KUNDUZ CITY (Pajhwok): Two families in northern Kunduz province have reconciled, ending their four years enmity as a result of efforts from local officials and tribal elders.
The feud had led to the killing of one individual from one side, said Agha Mir Nasiri, a tribal leader who played a key role in ending the enmity.
He warned any family violating the peace agreement would be fined five million afghanis that would go the government treasury.
“I’m pleased that we have been able to end the four-year-old enmity between the two families in Hodkhel village of Aktash district. We are trying to resolve enmities through jirgas.”
On the other hand, the reconciling families promised to end their hostilities once for all and start a peaceful life.
Ismatullah, the brother of a victim, said: “We are happy that elders have resolved our enmity and we ask other people in conflict to end their feuds and make peace with each other.”
Mohammad Amin, the murderer’s father, said: “Life in enmity was very difficult. From now on, we will live in peace. I appreciate all brothers who helped end our feud. Allah bless them all.”
