KABUL (Pajhwok): The Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan (IEA) has expressed its concern over a suicide attack on Chinese engineers in northwestern Pakistan.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA) in Kabul wrote on its X handle: “IEA expressed its regrets over the killing of several Chinese nationals in the attack in the Shangla district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.”
The ministry expressed its condolences to the Chinese and Pakistani governments over the casualties.
The caretaker government of Afghanistan condemned such incidents as an attempt to weaken regional cooperation.
Five Chinese engineers and their Pakistani driver were killed in a suicide blast in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa late on Tuesday.
The bomber rammed an explosives-laden vehicle into a convoy of Chinese engineers, which was on its way from Islamabad to their camp in Dasu.
