SAR-I-PUL (Pajhwok): Rain-induced floods have destroyed hundreds of acres of farmland and blocked the main road linking Kohistanat district to the capital of northern Sar-i-Pul province, an official said on Wednesday.
Disaster Management Director Syed Sifatullah Sar-i-Puli told Pajhwok Afghan News the flooding also washed away a bridge in the Jerjerak area of Kohistanat, blocking the road to the provincial capital.
He added the floods also damaged hundreds of acres of farmland in Kohistanat and Sayyad districts.
Disaster Management Authority officials are surveying the financial losses, but there have been no reports yet about casualties.
